REASI, July 16: District Administration Reasi has retrieved 50 Kanal of State land from encroachers.
According to District Development Commissioner Sushma Chauhan, the State land measuring 50 kanals at village Mari, tehsil-Pouni was retrieved from Krishan Lal, who dismantled a bowli (natural water source) on the said land and leveled it. In this regard, concerned Chowkidar and Lumberdar of the village were suspended for not reporting the matter to the authorities and FIR under Section 447-A was lodged. Tehsildar Pouni under Section 133 of Land Revenue Act, removed encroachment.
Assistant Commissioner Reasi was directed to examine the record of entire Patwar Halqa and on his report, Patwari Shah Nawaz Hussain has also been placed under suspension, the DDC further informed.
The administration will reconstruct the bowli as it was used by locals and others travelling on Reasi-Pouni road, she added.
