Mahindra forays into branded edible oil segment with ‘NuPro’

JAMMU, July 17: Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) agri business division forayed into branded edible oil space under “NuPro” brand with the launch of Virgin Kachhi Ghani Mustard Oil.
“The company, under the NuPro brand, will offer a bouquet of edible oils, the first of which is the NuPro Virgin Kacchi Ghani Mustard Oil”, Mahindra and Mahindra President and Chief Executive (Agri and Africa and South Asia Operations) Ashok Sharma said.
He added that “With NuPro, through our ‘Farm to Fork’ model, we have entered the branded edible oils segment with an aim to connect farmers with discerning Indian customers who look for pure products”.
Mahindra and Mahindra Executive Director Pawan Goenka said NuPro will establish itself as a premium brand for edible oils and pulses in India.
NuPro Virgin Kachhi Ghani Mustard Oil is priced at Rs 144 for one litre pack and Rs 2125 for a 15 kg tin, he added.
He stated that the company, under the ‘NuPro’ brand, will offer a bouquet of edible oils that include variants like rice bran and others.
He informed that the company is targeting a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore from its agri-business vertical by the end of this fiscal. Last fiscal, the segment had reported a turnover of Rs 580 crore.
