PM attends all-party meeting ahead of Monsoon Session tomorrow

NEW DELHI: The all-party meeting convened by Parliamentary Affairs Minister M Venkaiah Naidu ahead of the Monsoon Session of Parliament tomorrow is underway here today.
The meeting is being attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and opposition leaders, including Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, CPI-M |General Secretary Sitaram Yechury, JD(U) leader K C Tyagi, Samajwadi Party leaders Ram Gopal Yadav and Naresh Agarwal, Satish Chandra Mishra (BSP), K K Rao (TRS) and Tariq Anwar (NCP).
Besides Mr Naidu, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Ministers of Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi are also attending the meeting. The meeting has been convened with the Opposition to run the Monsoon Session smoothly. The Opposition is all set to nail the Government on the Lalit Modi controversy, involving External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje, and Vyapam scam.
This session proposes to pass controversial Land Acquisition Bill which is being opposed tooth and nail by the Opposition parties. Besides, there are several key bills like GST, which are also on the agenda. (AGENCIES)
