JAMMU, July 20: Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch stressed upon newly elected District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (DGPC) members to be ready for every sacrifice for the sake of community and work with dedication honestly and also provide their service according to Sikh Gurudwara Act 1973.
Mahant Manjit Singh said this while addressing a grand Gurmat Samagam which was organized by Avtar Singh Khalsa, newly elected DGPC member from Bishnah constituency at Gurudwara Rani Talab Digiana.
The Mahant also stressed the DGPC members to raise the issue of Minority Commission with the State Government besides isues of refugees of 1947 from PoK; Implementation of Punjabi Language; Inclusion of Sikh Members in the J&K Service Selection Board and in Public Service Commission and also fight for other rights of Sikh community for getting justice.
The DGPC members of various districts of Jammu province including Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Reasi, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar participated in the said function. Many senior political and leaders of various Sikh organizations also participated who included Shiromani Akali Dal, SAD (Youth), AISSF, Bhai Kanhaiya Nishkam Seva Society, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society etc.
S Rangil Singh, former Minister and chairman MGS College congratulated the newly elected DGPC members of Jammu province with the blessings of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Dera Nangali Sahib and advised them to serve the community without any self interest in the religious and other fields of life.
S Avtar Singh Khalsa also spoke on the occasion and expressed that he will always be ready to honour the direction of Dera Nangali Sahib and available to the community for solving the issues of his constituency in every field of life.
All the DGPC members were presented siropas. They all offered their fullest support to Mahant Ji and be ready to honour the directions under the Dera Nangali Sahib.
