Issue of atrocities on Hindus in Pakistan raised in RS

NEW DELHI, Aug 17: Recent incident of conversion of a Hindu girl to Islam and the direct telecast of her conversion on a channel in Pakistan was raised in the Rajya Sabha today.
Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, Avinash Rai Khanna of the BJP said such an incident had never happened before.
“This is an inhuman act and an insult to the people of India,” Mr Khanna said, adding that incidents like these were a usual occurrence in Pakistan.
He said almost 15 to 20 Hindu families were coming daily to India after being fed up by the atrocities in Pakistan.
Mr Khanna alleged that many of these people were given a visa for India on the condition that they would not say anything in India about the treatment meted to them in the neighbouring country.
Several members of the BJP associated themselves with the sentiments expressed by Mr Khanna.(UNI)
