KATHUA, July 23: One day district level awareness programme on Self Help Groups (SHGs) was conducted in Hiranagar by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to sensitize SHG group leaders on their role.
The main participants in the meeting were Aman Kalsotra, AGM (DDM), NABARD, Ashok Khashu, LDM, KL Sharma, Area Manager, JKGB, Kathua, Lok Nath Dogra, District Mushroom Development Officer, Ravi Sharma, Secretary, Gramudyog Hastkala Kendra, Hiranagar More, Dheeraj, SBI-RSETI and self help group leaders.
On the occasion, Aman Kalsotra explained the role of group leaders, concept and book-keeping of SHG, activities undertaken by the SHG etc.
Ashok Khashu informed the role of bank in saving and credit linkage of SHG.
KL Sharma emphasized on the need of social banking.
Lok Nath Dogra, District Mushroom Development Officer informed about the role of agriculture department in mushroom activity.
