Teachers Guild celebrates its first Foundation Day

JAMMU, July 24: Teachers Guild Jammu and Kashmir celebrated its first foundation day at its sub-office Vijaypur, in which all the office bearers of central core committee and zonal bodies were present besides other participants, today.
The function was presided over by Nasir Ahmad Qurashi, State president of Teachers Guild, who inaugurated the programme by lightening the lamp along with Vijay Kumar Sharma, State general secretary, Narayan Baru, Programme Coordinator, Charanji Lal Thapa, member Retired Educationist Cell, Adv Mohd Farooq Faraz Qurashi and other office bearers.
On the occasion, Vijay Kumar Sharma presented Yearly Progress Report about activities and achievements of Teachers Guild in detail.
Nasir Ahmad Qurashi in his presidential address expressed gratitude to teaching professionals of State and members of State level and zonal level bodies for their faith in TGJK during the year and assured them that the entire team of central core committee will work for the betterment of community in future also.
Nasir Ahmad Qurashi furher said that under the guidance of Education Minister Naeem Akhter and Minister of State for School Education Priya Sethi, the Education department is doing well on some stages and has taken measures to curb menace of corruption and wholesale transfers in the department but on some issues the serious reviews are needed and in this connection Teachers Guild is going to present a detail representation to the Education Minister very soon.
Narayan Baru said there is dire need of introducing Value Education as a separate subject at secondary level and establishment of cultural units at district and zonal levels to gear up the cultural activities for students.
Charanji Lal Thapa presented vote of thanks.
