UDHAMPUR, July 24: In a tragic end of their story, love birds separately committed suicide in Magani village of Udhampur here today.
Reports said that the boy, identified as Ajay Kumar (21), son of Bali Ram of Upper Magani committed suicide by hanging himself in his house while the girl Aashu Devi of the same village breathed her last in GMC Hospital Jammu after she consumed some poisonous substance.
While the boy was declared as brought dead in hospital, the girl was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur where she was further referred to GMC Jammu due to her deteriorating condition. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, she did not respond to the treatment and died after some time.
Even as Police has registered a case in this regard for further investigation, reports said that both boy and the girl were in love and wanted to marry each other. However, their family members were opposing the affair and marriage proposal, which forced the duo to take extreme step.
