JAMMU, July 24: A man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in tehsil Akhnoor while a man killed in a road mishap that occurred at Majalta in Udhampur district.
According to a police spokesperson, a youth identified as Subhash Chand (25) son of Tej Ram, a resident of Panjgrain in Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu district, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. In critical condition, the family members rushed him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors.
Meanwhile, an accident victim who was undergoing treatment here at GMCH after being injured in a road mishap at Majalta in Udhampur district, also succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar (28) son of Ganga Ram, a resident of Battal.
The body of both the deceased had been kept in the mortuary room of the hospital and will be handed over to their legal heirs after conducting autopsy tomorrow.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
