DIG visits Kathua to review police functioning

KATHUA July 24: DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, today visited district. Kathua in order to review the police preparedness to deal with subversive activities especially Fidayeen attacks, criminal activities and to ensure peace and tranquility in the district.
He also held a meeting of all the territorial officers of District Kathua which included Ms Neeva Jain, SP Kathua, Nasir Ahmed Additional.SP Kathua , All SDPOs/SHOs of district. All the Officers were asked to remain alert in their area of responsibility in view of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
All Border Police Posts/Police Stations, Police Posts and Nakas should remain fully strengthened and alert to meet any eventuality he informed the officers. DIG Jammu also held a Darbar of all the officers/Jawans at District Police Lines Kathua to interact with them. All officers and men were briefed with regard to present security scenario and were directed to perform their duties with utmost care and responsibility to ensure that better services are delivered to the Public. DIG Jammu also stressed on community policing to ensure better Police Public relations at Thana/ Police Posts level. He also inspected the competence of District Police to deal with any unforeseen law and order issue and imparted necessary directions to district SP and SDPOs in this regard.
Mr Wani inspected the Police Station Kathua and necessary directions were given on spot with regard to proper record building, upkeep and maintenance of the Police Station premises. Lastly the DIG also chaired a Police Public meet in which large number of prominent citizens of District Kathua attended. Most of the prominent citizens stressed to take stern action against drug mafia and about the traffic related issues in the District and Mr Wani assured for appropriate action.
