KATHUA, July 25: One motorcyclist was crushed to death by a speedy vehicle on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway at Palimore near here today.
He was identified as Parveen S/O Des Raj of Khanpur in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district.
According to police Parveen was on way to Kathua on his motorcycle and after reaching Palimore his two -wheeler was hit by an unknown speedy vehicle and he fell down on the road. The vehicle fled after accident. As the youth fell on the road another unknown vehicle which was also in fast speedy crushed him and it also fled from the spot.
The victim breathed his last then and there. The passers by called the police which reached the spot and took him to District Hospital Kathua where after conducting his postmortem the dead body was handed over to the family members for the last rites.
The Kathua police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law. The people in the area expressed grave resentment against the increasing accidents on NH and demanded increasing of police vigil on Highway.
