Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 15 milch animals rescued

JAMMU, July 25: Chowki Choura police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 15 milch animals from a tralla.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Chowki Choura police post laid a naka and signaled a tralla bearing registration number JKO2AC-8569 on its way to Kashmir from Jammu via Mughal Road to stop.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and broke the naka. The vehicle was chased by the police team and intercepted near some distance.
During checking, police rescued 15 bovine animals from the vehicle, while the driver escaped from the spot taking advantage of the forest area.
A case under FIR number 131/15 under Section 188 RPC and 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Akhnoor police station and manhunt launched to nab the driver.
Police team led by Incharge police post Chowki Choura SI Kuldeep Khajuria and SHO Akhnoor police station Inspector Pushpinder Singh rescued the bovines under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
