JAMMU, July 25: All J&K Central Paramilitary Forces (CPF) Welfare Association has vociferously condemned the statement issued by the Minister of State for Defence, Rao Inderjit Singh, that Government is not formulating any policy for implementing ‘One Rank One Pension’ (OROP) for Central Paramilitary Forces.
In a meeting of the association held here today, the speakers including Ex-personnel of Central Paramilitary Forces, Veer Naris and their dependents unanimously condemned the statement of the Minister on various grounds. The first ground they cited was that the Minister who is holding the portfolio of Minister of State for Defence then in what capacity he ruled out the subject to be dealt by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
They questioned whether the Minister has carefully planned to divide the defending mechanism of India or it is the planning of Government of India (GoI), adding if the said statement is the final conclusion of NDA Government then it is the destructive havoc like thunder bolt on bank vote for the future.
The speakers said that the responsibility of armed forces and paramilitary forces has not much variation and since their inception Central Paramilitary Forces have suffered much more than that of defence forces on ground as well as shouldering other responsibilities.
“Refusing OROP benefit to Central Paramilitary Forces is a total discrimination, as all forces defending the Country are the creation of the same constitution of India and personnel belonging to them are all sons of Indian soil and born of the same womb of Mother India”, they added and urged the Government of India to grant OROP to Central Paramilitary Forces also.
