Srinagar, July 27: Scores of Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers today held a protest against the hike in petrol price in Lal Chowk area of the city centre here.
The CPI (M) workers assembled in Press Enclave here and raised anti-Government slogans. The protesters were demanding immediate roll back of the Government’s decision.
The protesters, who were from CPI (M) State Committee, said that the “arbitrary and irrational” hikes on petroleum products are “completely unacceptable”.
The protest ended on peaceful note as the protesters dispersed peacefully.
