RAJOURI, July 27: The police during two separate operations, rescued 12 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers in Budhal area of district Rajouri today.
Reports said as a part of drive against menace of bovine smuggling, Budhal police led by SHO Kuldeep Raj, under the supervision of Addl SP Tejinder Singh today laid a naka at Targain and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Liaquat Ali, son of Chhattu, resident of Udhan and rescued six bovine animals which were on its way from Budhal to Srinagar via Ghambiri-Sokar-Bela to Shopian illegally.
In this connection, case FIRs No. 53/2015 & 84/2015 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA have been registered at P/S Budhal.
Similarly, another police party from Budhal area during naka at Phalani, rescued six more bovine animals. They were also being brought from Phalani, Budhal to Srinagar via Shopian on- foot illegally. Police arrested one bovine smuggler namely Mohd Altaf, son of Chhatu, resident of Gunda in Budhal. In this connection case FIR No. 54/2015 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA has been registered at P/S Budhal and investigation is going on.
Rajouri police intensified drive against bovine smugglers. During the year 2015, 70 cases of bovine smuggling have been registered against 149 persons 432 bovine animals rescued and 41 vehicles have been seized so far.
