JAMMU, Aug 18: Police today arrested five gamblers and recovered Rs 14,340 bet money from their possession.
Police spokesman said that, on a tip off, police party from Bakshi Nagar police station arrested five gamblers from an Innova car parked on Shakti Nagar road. Betting amount Rs 14,340 and play cards were also recovered from the spot, he added.
The gamblers were identified as Veenu Sharma, son of Sain Dass of Rajpura Mangotrian, Anoop Kumar, son of Bharat Bhushan of Rehari, Sunil Kumar, son of Prithvi Raj and Rakesh Kumar, son of Jaimal, both resident of Rajpura and Sonu Kumar, son of Parshotam Kumar of Gajansoo.
The arrest was made by SI Darshan Singh under the supervision of SHO Bakshi Nagar, Naresh Kumar and SDPO City West.
