10 bovines rescued, 2 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, July 29: Police today intercepted a truck at Miran Sahib area of city outskirts and rescued 10 bovine animals being smuggled.
According to a police spokesperson, a team of police from police station Miran Sahib intercepted a truck bearing registration No JK02AD-7209 at Miran Sahib area of city outskirts and rescued 11 bovine animals being smuggled.
Police seized the truck and arrested the driver as well as conductor of the vehicle. The arrested accused have been identified as Surjeet Kumar son of Satpaul, a resident of Tanda, RS Pura and Pritam Singh, son of Gurdas Singh, a resident of Chak Mohd Yaar, RS Pura.
The arrest was made by a team of police station Miran Sahib led by SHO Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters, Randheer Singh and under the overall supervision of Incharge SSP Jammu, Rajiv Pandey.
A case in this regard has been registered at police station Miran Sahib.
