Bovine smuggling bid foiled

RAMBAN, July 29: Police today foiled bovine smuggling bid and rescued five animals, which were being transported illegally to the Kashmir valley.
Reports said that on specific information, a Police Party led by SHO Police Station Ramban Inspector Ajay Chib laid a special naka at Shan Palace Ramban and signaled a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number JK14B-3023 to stop.
However, driver accelerated the vehicle but the active police party chased the vehicle. Sensing trouble, the driver abandoned the vehicle near Seri and escaped from the spot.
During the checking of vehicle, five bovines were recovered. A case has been registered in this regard and hunt launched to nab the absconding driver.
