JAMMU, Aug 18: Jagti Coordination Committee (JCC) held protest demonstration outside Press Club of Jammu and highlighted their demands, today.
Addressing the demonstrators M L Padroo, president, Jagti Coordination Committee, alleged that the present Government was hatching a plan to make the community feel that “our presence is no where, because no census 2011 was conducted in Jagti, where 11 thousand people are living”.
He added, “we were denied any role in Panchayat election as we were not allowed to vote in Panchayat polls, which is basic right of any Indian citizen. We have been suffering from last one and half year for want of water and electricity supply as also road connectivity. During holy festivals like Janamashtami, Raksha Bandan and the Independence Day we remained deprived of basic facilities”.
The president said all the consecutive Government have failed to protect our Constitutional rights. Commenting on the un-employment of KP youths, he said that Centre has announced the PMs package, but unfortunately it has not been implemented yet, which means that authorities were compelling the peace loving community to come on the roads for fighting their rights.
He added that assistance to relief holders has not been enhanced by the Central Government as already recommended by the State Government.
