DC directs for upgrading revenue establishment

UDHAMPUR, July 30: Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, reviewed the performance of Revenue Department and subordinate field offices in a meeting of officials convened here today wherein a number of vital decisions were taken for better public service delivery, grievance redressal, strengthening field offices and infrastructure development.
The DC stressed on strengthening Single Line System of administration and ensuring accountability of field officials of essential services and departments related to social services in particular for which revenue officials were directed to maintain village register in coordination in Panchayats.
He called for prompt grievance redressal and disposal of public complaints with intimation to applicants in a time bound manner. Impressing upon the officials for strengthening RTI, PSGA and Law Enforcement, he informed that workshops will be organised for revenue officials for knowledge upgradation.
In the meeting 8 Community Toilets were sanctioned for Tehsil Offices and 21 Community Toilets for Niabat Office premises for providing facility to general public visiting the offices. Likewise 10 water coolers and filters were also sanctioned for public offices. Dr Shahid informed that Revenue Offices will be further strengthened with IT Infrastructure for convenience of public.
SDMs and Tehsildars have been directed for eviction from common lands and protection of state land by way of plantation and fencing for which Rs 2 crore has been earmarked by district administration. Tehsildars and NTs were directed for strict check on traffic violations and compounding the cases of violation at their level. Patwaris have been directed for maintaining village register for essential services supplies and maintenance. They inspect the Ration Depots and ensure that ration supplied by district godowns is received and distributed at depots. Field Staff was directed for remaining available in offices/Halqas for which DC Office will issue a public notification indicating name, location, contact numbers and days of availability of Patwaris in respective offices and in field.
Progress related to land acquisition, payment of compensation, establishment of control room, status of pendency in revenue courts, relief and restoration, essential services was discussed in the meeting and a number of decisions taken.
Addl DC Angrez Singh Rana, ACR Rajiv Mangotra, SDM Chenani, SDM Ramnagar, i/c SDM Dudu, SDM Basantgarh, DSEO, DIO, HQA to DC, Tehsildars, ARA, Naib Tehsildars, Girdawars and all Patwaris attended the meeting.
