Reference editorial ‘Uphold the law’ Daily Excelsior July 28, 2015. A detailed front page news on July 26 reminded me of long long ago film song in the melodious voice of Talat Mehmood ‘Jaen to Jaen Kahan’. Every time we are sleeves up that police do not discharge its duty well. And if they do, it invites such like situations. Why to waste twenty five minutes or so, hardly a minute was sufficient to show the Identity Card in a militancy prone area and particularly when Amarnath Yatra is in full swing but under heavy threats. If the words like personal information, verbal declaration or announcement as mentioned in the editorial can surpass the Identity Card, then what for this Identity Card or the importance of any Identity as well.
