SRINAGAR, Aug 1: In view of streamlining traffic management in Srinagar City, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a high level meeting of Engineers of Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) and other allied officers here today and took stock of ongoing construction work on flyover from Jahangir Chowk to Ram Bagh.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned authorities for immediate removal of all bottlenecks and ensure demolition of structures which have been identified by the ERA.
Dr. Samoon also reviewed construction of newly proposed flyovers from J&K Bank, Moulana Azad Road to Chinar Bagh Dalgate, Emporium Garden to TRC and construction of Mehjoor Nagar Bridge. He was informed that on these projects Rs. 42 crore is being utilized by the ERA.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers to take steps for removal of bottlenecks and ensure demolition of structures which have been identified from the J&K Bank Moulana Azad Road so that the work on these projects could be started. Similarly, the Divisional Commissioner also stressed upon the concerned agency for removal of structures for construction of flyover from Emporium Garden to TRC Srinagar. He also directed the authorities to start work for construction of Mehjoor Nagar Bridge.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director ERA, Basharat Ahmad, Managing Director JK Arts Emporium Srinagar, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Drabu, Director Handicrafts, Inspector General of Police Traffic Kashmir, Deputy Inspector General of Police Srinagar, Engineers and officers of various departments.
Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner reviewed the works under execution by the JKPCC Ltd.
Managing Director JKPCC P.L. Bushan and General Manager JKPCC Vakar Shontu attended the meeting.
