JAMMU, Aug 2: Keeping in view of Jammu Bandh, the second round of counseling of the admission seekers under Special Scholarship Scheme, which was rescheduled to be held on August 3, 4 and 5, has been further postponed.
Decision to further postpone the counseling has been taken to ensure that students may not suffer on account of Jammu Bandh while fresh dates for holding the counseling will be notified later on, said Commissioner Secretary Higher Education, Sarita Chouhan.
Earlier, the second round of counseling was scheduled to be held on July 31, August 1 and 2 but the same was postponed and rescheduled to August 3, 4 and 5 in view of 72 hours Jammu Bandh.
However, following extension of Jammu Bandh for the next 72 hours, the rescheduled counseling has been further postponed and now fresh date for the same will be notified soon.
It may be recalled that under Special Scholarship Scheme, online applications were invited from the eligible candidates from Jammu and Kashmir for fresh admission in Under Graduate Degree level program in general and engineering stream in the Institutes approved by UGC or by AICTE, located outside the State.
