KATHUA, Aug 2: The AIIMS both for Jammu and Kashmir provinces would have equal provisions of infrastructure, funds, faculty, paramedical staff and facilities and an amount of Rs 1500 crore each would be provided for the same.
This was stated by Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Ch Lal Singh while addressing a huge public gathering at Kathua today.
“The decision taken by the Union Government in consultation with State Government is quite clear and was taken keeping in mind the aspirations and necessities of both the regions”, he said, adding “process for establishment of AIIMS in Jammu and Srinagar will commence simultaneously with equal provision of funds— Rs 1500 crore for each”.
Even Bharatiya Janata Party has started generating awareness among the people about AIIMS for both the regions of the State.
“There will be separate Directors for Jammu AIIMS and Kashmir AIIMS, Rs 1500 crore each would be given for construction of AIIMS at Jammu and Srinagar, there would be separate independent faculty for both AIIMS and separate budget”, reads the campaign launched by BJP.
