Dr. Singh also directed the officers to ensure that the Municipal Committees function in such a manner that people get requisite redressal of their day-to-day grievances related to sanitation, development, street lighting and other related facilities from these as these (MCs) form an important component of governance at the grass root level. He said that the Government would ensure that the performing Municipal Committees would be awarded so that their performance gets acknowledged which would further ensure that their activities get sped up.
Referring to the Swachh Bharat Mission, the Deputy Chief Minister directed officers to ensure that it is paced up by carrying the activities associated with it across the state especially in the rural and far-flung areas. The Deputy Chief Minister asked the officers to speed up the implementation of various schemes under the Housing and Urban Development sector so that the people get benefitted from these. He said that there should be an effective mechanism which can monitor the pace of implementation of these on monthly basis besides getting the requisite feedback.

He said that special care should also be taken while identifying the beneficiaries of these so that only genuine persons get benefitted and the process should be completed in a transparent manner.
