Srinagar, Aug 4: Two Army jawans were killed and one injured when an ambush party of Army fired at patrol party of the same unit in Tral area of South Kashmir tonight.
Reports said that Army personnel belonging to 42-RR had established an ambush against militants at Dangar Mohalla in Noorpora area of Tral in orchards.
A patrol party of the same group, 42 RR, walked into the ambush and the ambush party fired at them. Both the parties fired at one another killing two Army jawans and injuring one.
The injured has been removed to 92-Base Hospital at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar for treatment.
The dead have been identified as Naik Mohan Boro and constable Lalchanhlima Ghatak and injured as constable Meitei.
