MENDHAR, Aug 4: Two Mendhar villages are without electricity for the last over one month as the local PDD authorities have failed to replace damaged transformers.
Reports said that a power transformer installed at Lower Harni went out of order about a month back. The people several times requested the local PDD staff but they have not replaced or get it repaired till today. They also held protests twice earlier but no body in the PDD cared for the agitating people.
Similarly, the electric transformer at Nakka village of Balakote went out of order about four weeks back and despite public request, the PDD authorities at Mendhar failed to restore power. The people have been forced to face darkness and the PDD authorities are sending electricity bills to these hapless villagers regularly without providing proper power supply service.
