SRINAGAR, Aug 5: Police in south Kashmir’s Shopian district recovered huge quantity of poppy during frisking of a vehicle.
Station House Officer Shopian Ferooz Ahmad told Excelsior that during routine checking between Peerpora and Ahgam in the district, police party stopped a Piaggio load career and on searching recovered 70 kilograms (14 bags) of dried poppy husk.
The driver of the load carrier, Farooq Ahmad Mir and co-driver, Mehraj Ahmad Bhat have been arrested and further probe is on.
