SRINAGAR, Aug 19: Police busted a gang of cattle lifters and recovered about 100 stolen cattle from them in the Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
A police spokesman said that personnel of police station Kangan raided several places and arrested five members of a cattle lifter gang that has been active in the Kangan area for a long time. The spokesman said that 96 cattle including sheep and goats have been recovered from their instance.
The spokesman identified the arrested gang members as Mushtaq Ahmad Bijad, resident of Baba Nagri, Javid Ahmad War resident of Soura, Faiz Ahmad Kollu resident of Soura, Ghulam Hassan Lone resident of Khanyar and Ajaz Ahmad Dagga resident of Soura. The police also recovered two TATA mobile vehicles used by the accused for committing the crime.
A case FIR NO. 70/2012 under Section 379 RPC has been registered in Police Station Kangan in this regard.
