JAMMU, Aug 6: Nagrota police arrested a driver and his associate along with large quantity of illicit liquor.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team led by SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma along with SHO Nagrota Inspector Daleep Singh under the supervision of Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey laid a naka and intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration JK02AN-8075.
During checking, police recovered 36 pouches and 3 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested the driver alongwith his associate.
The accused has been identified as driver Pawan Kumar, son of Hari Chand and his associate Manprakash, son of Dharam Chand, both residents of Kapota.
The accused were carrying the illicit liquor to their native village for sale among the masses for illegitimate profits, but their designs were thwarted by the police.
A case under FIR Number 163/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at police station Nagrota and investigation started.
