AEE beaten up as live HT wire falls on woman

MENDHAR, Aug 6:  A woman was seriously injured after a live  high tension wire fell on her in Mendhar town  today.
The mishap took place when middle aged Tazeem Akhtar, wife of Abdul Aziz, resident of  Dabraj in Sagra, at present Sangala Chowk, Mendhar had gone to the roof top of her rented house in Mendhar and was placing washed clothes of her children. Suddenly 11 KV electricity line fell on her causing serious injuries. She was thrown away with the severe electric shocks.
She was rushed to the SDH Mendhar by locals of the area. Her children studying in nearby St Francis Convent School,  also rushed to home after coming to know about the incident. Incharge Tehsildar Mendhar, Shahzad Khan  along with AEE PDD S S Pathania reached on the spot after some time, when they came to know about the matter. During visit, chairman of St Francis School, Mohd Khursheed had some heated exchanges with the AEE Mr  Pathania over the issue as same line passes above the school. The AEE asked whether School management  got permission from the PDD before raising building of this school at this place, risking life of many students. Upon this, the chairman and his men attacked AEE and beaten him up in front of Tehsildar and others.
Later, both the parties lodged counter FIRs at Police Station Mendhar.  Seriously injured  woman was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. The police registered a case and started investigation.
