SRINAGAR, Aug 19: A Sessions Court here has granted extension of 90 days to police for completing the investigation into the Chanapora car bomb case.
“The Investigating agency is granted 90 days more time to complete the investigation into the case in hand,” Principal District and Session Judge Srinagar Kaneez Fatima said in her order passed yesterday.
The public prosecutor had moved an application seeking extension of 90 days to complete the investigation into the Chanapora car bomb case.
A security force patrol had detected a car bomb near Chanapora bridge in May this year. Three persons have been arrested in connection with this case.
The prosecution has claimed that since the activities of the three arrested militants were spread all over Kashmir valley, more time was required to complete the investigations.
It has also pleaded that three hardcore militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba, involved in the car bomb case, were still at large.
While granting the prosecution pleas, the judge also extended the judicial remand of the accused by 16 days. (PTI)
