PM greets audience in Tamil

CHENNAI, Aug 7:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was today greeted by a thunderous applause as he prefaced his speech here with Tamil greeting ‘vanakam’ and said he was glad to be in Tamil Nadu to meet the people.
“Tamil Nadu Vandaduku migazha maguichi. Makkala kanardhuku mighazha maguichi.(Happy to come to Tamil Nadu. Happy to meet the people here”, he said as he began his speech during the launch of the National Handloom Day.
He also thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who was not present, as well as the state Government for organising the function.
During his address, Modi advised people to use handloom products. (PTI)
