J&K college students meet Army chief

NEW DELHI, Aug 7: Students of a Jammu and Kashmir College today met Army chief Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag as part of a ‘National Integration Tour’ organised by the force.
18 girl students, from rural and urban downtown areas of Srinagar, and two teachers of Srinagar School of Management College, Parihaspora, today interacted with Suhag as part of the tour.
The technology awareness tour to Delhi, Indore and Mhow, undertaken by 2 Rashtriya Rifles from August 5 to 17, is aimed to give an exposure to the participants on technical courses and job opportunities available outside Jammu and Kashmir, an Army statement said.
Out of the 18 students, 10 are pursuing electronic and communication engineering, while the remaining are learning computer engineering.
The tour includes four days in Delhi and five days in Indore and Mhow, during which they have planned to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan, IITs at Delhi and Indore, IIM Indore, Military College of Telecommunication Engineering and Infantry School among other institutes.
