Army conducts educational tour for girl students of Drass

Srinagar, Aug 7: Army in remote Drass area of Kargil district conducted an education tour for girl students under ‘Operation Sadhbavana’ from August 1.
A defence spokesman said the tour comprises of 20 girl students in the age group between 11 to 15 years along with four of their teachers. “During the tour, the girl students will be taken to Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri, and Ambala. The tour would give girl students a wider exposure to other States of India and educate them about the rich historical, religious, cultural and natural heritage of our country as also expose them to its scientific and technological progress. The tour will instill in them a spirit of patriotism and further integrate them into the national mainstream,” the spokesman said, adding, that the necessary administrative backup is being provided by the Army for complete duration.
“In addition to sightseeing, the tour will motivate the children to excel in their studies, so as to avail better avenues and opportunities both inside and outside Jammu and Kashmir. The flagging in ceremony of tour will be conducted on Aug 15, 2015 at Kargil,” the spokesman said.
