Talent hunt competition by Army at Hyder Beigh

Srinagar, Aug 7: As a prelude to the mega final hunt competition to be held at the headquarters of 15 Chinar Corps here on Aug 11, 2015 a Talent Hunt Competition was organised by Army at Hyder Beigh in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A defence spokesman said that talents from important centers of north Kashmir came under one roof to showcase their talents in the fields of Art and Culture. “There were a total twenty participants who were judged by an eminent group of jury. The outstanding performers will now have an opportunity to exhibit this talent at a bigger platform at Chinar Corp headquarters,” the spokesman said.
The Chief Guest Maj General Asif Mistry and the audience appreciated the talents which were no less than the other and who with time and dedication will only grow, the spokesman said.
“They also interacted and appreciated all the participants of Project Khushi and initiative which was started at Vocational Training Centre (VTC) at Widdipura village of Pattan on June 9 this year to train local young boys and girls in the various fields of skill development,” the spokesman said, adding: “21 children from Widdipura have been undergoing Computer Basic Course, 20 girls and ladies from Hanziviura are being trained at the village Panchayat Ghar, science coaching classes to 11 local students of standard 11th and 12th and last but not the least 23 local volunteers who were trained under the aegis of State Horticulture Department, Sopore in Food Processing and Canning namely Jam, Pickle & Purie making.”
The chief guest of the occasion, Major General Asif Mistry, complimented all the participants and wished them all the success in future. “He assured that in future too, the Army will act as a medium to recognise, support and reward worthy talents from the Valley. All the participants were presented with a token of appreciation and the outstanding amongst them were suitability rewarded,” the defence spokesman added.
