JAMMU, Aug 8: Senior PDP leader and MLC Vikramaditya Singh visited border villages of Hamirpur Kona and Pargwal to pay condolence to families of the deceased who lost their lives during recent Pakistani shelling.
Along with the local administration he took full stock of the damages. During interaction with villagers certain demands were put forward. There has been a long standing demand of compensation to the families of the dead to be enhanced from Rs. 1 lakh. They also demanded adequate compensation for cattle and live stock to be increased. The villagers also expressed grave concern that most casualties occur when the injured cannot be transported to hospitals in Jammu as the routes are shut down during shelling. They requested for armoured ambulances to be made available for this purpose.
Vikramaditya Singh gave assurance that he would bring matter to the notice of the authorities for prompt action. Also accompanying him were PDP General Secretary Daman Bhasin,Rajinder Manhas, Suman Sharma, Devinder Sharma, Satpal Charak, Yashvir Singh Manhas, Devraj Bhagat, Madan Lal, Vikram Singh and Amjad Malik.
