JAMMU, Aug 19: City police today arrested three notorious criminals and recovered one country made pistol, four cartridges and two sharp edged weapons from their possession. The criminals were going to eliminate one of their rivals when they were nabbed at Kanji House, Hari Market on their motorcycle No. 7539 JK02AV.
The criminals have been identified as Mohitesh Sharma alias Munna son of Ved Prakash Sharma R/o Rajpura, Shakti Nagar, Balwinder Singh alias Bindu son of Shamsher Singh R/o Gurdaspur, presently putting up at Vijay Nagar, Talab Tillo and Binni Sotra son of Bal Sotra R/o Resham Ghar, presently Bagh-e-Bahu.
Police said the criminals were intercepted on the motor-cycle and arrested by police.
Recoveries made from their possession included one country made pistol, four cartridges and two sharp edged weapons (tokas).
Police said Mohitesh Sharma was wanted in one murder case and six attempt to murder cases.
Police added that a major tragedy has been averted with timely arrest of the accused as they were on way to kill one of their rivals. A fresh case has been registered against them at City police station.
Police parties headed by SHO City Bishnesh Kumar made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO City Kulbir Honda.
