No respite from hot, humid weather, sun playing hide & seek

SRINAGAR : There was still no respite from the hot and humid weather though sun was playing hide and seek in the Kashmir valley, where the mercury remained above normal.
A Met department spokesman said here this afternoon that weather will cloudy but dry during the next 48 hours and the mercury will remained above normal in the valley.
However, there is possibility of light rain or thundershowers in winter capital, Jammu, where the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 31 degrees Celsius and 25 degree respectively during the next 24 hours.
In Ladakh region, the sky would be partly cloudy and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 31 degrees and 15 degree respectively during the next 24 hours.
After recording yet another hot night due to three degree above, people continued to witness hot and humid weather though sun was playing hide and seek in the summer capital, Srinagar.
He said sky would be partly cloudy and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 32 degrees and 20 degrees respectively, again above normal in the city.
World famous health resort of Pahalgam, which also serves as base camp for ongoing annual Amarnath yatra, recorded 17 degrees minimum temperature, four notches above normal. Gulmarg, a famed ski resort in north Kashmir recorded 12.5 degree, half a notch above normal. However, it was half a degree less than yesterday.
Qazigund, Kokernag and Kupwara also recorded two to three degrees above normal minimum temperature.
He said Leh witnessed considerable increase in the minimum temperature. Against yesterdays 14.3 degrees it was 20 degrees, he said, adding maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 31 degrees and 15 degrees respectively in Leh tomorrow. (AGENCIES)
