Forum demands review of transfer cases of Lecturers

UDHMAPUR, Aug 9: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma,District President of the Forum.
In the meeting, the speakers expressed concern over the largescale transfers of lecturers recently ordered by the Director,School Education, Jammu.Many lecturers have been transferred to zero kilometer in the cities and adjoining areas whereas many others having a stay of more than five years in far flung areas have not been transferred. Moreover,some lecturers from schools falling in winter zones have been transferred without posting any substitute thus playing with the future of stude whose exams are at hand. They also expressed their concern over some lecturers having been transferred against the posts of lecturers in other subjects and said that this will affect the education of students adversely.
They also demanded enhancement of the grade pay of Principals and declaration of their post as non vacational,removal of pay anomaly of lecturers in Physical Education,Running Pattern in favour of +2 cadre,formulation and implementation of rational Transfer Policy and regularisation of all Jt. Directors, Chief Education Offices, Principals and lecturers serving in the Incharge capacity in the School Education Department etc.
Speaking on the occassion, Ashok Sharma urged the DSE,Jammu and the administrative department to review the cases of lecturers aggrieved by the recent transfers and modify their orders accordingly and post lecturees in the schools falling in winter zone.He demanded a rational and transparent transfer policy in the School Education Department which should be approved and ratified by the State Cabinet. He also urged the Government to expedite the process of recruitment of teaching and nonteaching staff in schools to fill the large number of vacancies in schools.
