JAMMU, Aug 10: Panic gripped the passengers traveling via Duronto train which was on its way from Jammu to New Delhi this evening after minor fire broke out in the S2 coach of the train at Vijaypur.
According to police the minor fire broke out after the rubber lying over the wheels of the train in S2 coach caught fire with the heating up of the wheels due to high temperature when it reached Vijaypur at 8 pm. However, the railway staff on duty swung into action and they dozed water over the flames to control the blaze. However, no passenger traveling in the train was harmed and all of them are safe, police added.
Later, the train left for onwards journey and after reaching Samba Railway Station the coach S2 was replaced by new coach and all passengers were shifted in it from S2 coach. Police said a surplus coach was readily available at Samba. It said after the replacement of coach the train left for New Delhi.
