JAMMU, Aug 11: Estates Employees Welfare Association led by its president Kewal Krishan met Deputy Director (DD), Jammu and Executive Engineer, Jammu.
The members apprised both the officers with the problems being faced by the employees and a chartered of demands was presented to them.
The Association demanded re-organization of the Estates Department, actual designation of the employees/helpers, conduct of DPC, confirmation of all categories of the employees should be made in respect of those who have been performing the job as incharge of their respective post held by them for 12 years and also given the charge allowance working on such posts.
The Association also demanded regularization of daily wagers, granting of time bound promotion to those category employees, whose tome bound promotions are pending, providing of uniform and tools to the deserving employees, two and half day salary to the field staff, rectifying the fault in the staff quarters of the Estate Department Employees, distribution of wages on time and charge allowance to be sanctioned in respect of those Estate employees who have been discharging their duties as works supervisor and other.
The members of the Association urged the officers to fulfill all the demands at the earliest.
Both the officers gave patient hearing to the demands and assured them that those demands which are within their jurisdiction will be redressed and those related to the Government and Higher Authorities shall be pursued for early fulfillment for best interest of the employees.
Among others present were Satnam Singh, Chairman, Yash Paul Jogi, vice president, Sushil Kumar, general secretary, Hans Raj, secretary, Tarsem Lal, cashier, Satish Kumar and Rash Paul Kumar, publicity secretaries, etc.
