Cardamom futures fall 1.59% on profit-booking

NEW DELHI, Aug 12:  Cardamom prices fell 1.59 per cent to Rs 810 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels amid low demand at the spot market.
Besides, adequate stocks in the physical market on increased supplies from major producing belts weighed on cardamom prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August month moved down by Rs 13.10, or 1.59 per cent to Rs 810 per kg in business turnover of 1 lot.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in September contracts fell by Rs 5.10, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 814.50 per kg in business turnover of 153 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, easing demand at the spot market mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade. (PTI)
