SRINAGAR, Aug 12: Nearly two weeks have passed since Jammu and Kashmir Wakf Board approached Law Department seeking suggestions about the fate of “terminated” employees of Bibi Halima College of Nursing and Technology but there they have not received any response so far.
As reported earlier by the Excelsior, the Wakf Vice Chairman, Peer Muhammad Hussain, has termed the appointments made by his predecessor, MY Qadri, “illegal” and “verbally terminated” the seven clinical instructors of the College.
Interestingly, the VC, despite terming the appointments illegal, sought legal opinion from the Law Department. Though it has been nearly two weeks, but sources told Excelsior that the Department has not replied.
Due to stalemate, the “terminated” employees said they are “mentally disturbed” as their future is at stake. The employees have appealed Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to intervene in the matter and take notice of the “injustice”. “We will not sit-back and we will continue our fight for justice. We will keep going to the college,” they said.
