GDC Kishtwar observes International Youth Day

KISHTWAR, Aug 12: On the eve of International Youth Day, Red Ribbion Club of GDC Kishtwar organized a symposium on the theme “Kadam Badao- A Step Towards Change”.
The program was presided by Prof (Dr) Aftab Ahmed Khan, Principal GDC Kishtwar and Prof Shakeela Begum, Prof P K Shamra were the guests of honour on the occasion.
The program commenced with a welcome Address by Dr Ashaq Hussain, Coordinator, Red Ribbion Club, followed by the speeches of the participants.
Eight speakers from BSc Semester-Ist shed light on the topic and urged for a role of youth in peace, prosperity and development of nations. The symposium culminated with prize distribution.
First prize was bagged by Rabia Naz whereas Shivam Shan and Akshay Sen bagged 2nd and third prize respectively. Prof Satish Thakur, Prof Romana Akhter and Prof Yaseen Sirwal acted as the judges.
Speaking on the occasion Dr Aftab Ahmed Khan stressed upon the students to grab opportunity to raise awareness regarding the challenges of change and problems being faced by the youth in contemporary society.
He professed for a need to participate actively for brining positive change in social, cultural and political spheres. Other who spoke on the occasion included Prof Shakeela Begum and Prof P K Sharma. The proceedings of the program were carried out by Dr Ashaq Hussain.
