Students protest against DDE

JAMMU, Aug 12:  Demanding relaxation in eligibility marks for fresh admission in Directorate of Distance Education, Jammu University, a number of admission seekers held a strong protest demonstration in front of DDE, here today.
The agitating students were also protesting against closure of B Ed in DDE and were demanding that the students of Political Science as well as Economics in DDE should be absorbed as regular students in JU.
The protesting students assembled under the leadership of DSU president Mukesh Parihar and raised slogans in support of their demands. They also submitted a memorandum to Director DDE, who visited them.
Even as the Director assured to look into their demands, the agitating students served an ultimatum of five days over the issue.
Earlier, the protesting students were also addressed by Mukesh Parihar, who explained about the problems being faced the students in DDE.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Sanjay Kotwal, Rajeshwar Singh, Wassim, Manish Chaindal, Alka Sharma, Meenakshi and Ravinder.
