Rajendra sanctions Rs 4 lakh scholarship

SRINAGAR, Aug 12: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar, today sanctioned scholarships over Rs. 4 lakh in favour of 128 wards of serving personnel, who have secured distinctions in annual examinations and wards of police martyrs and have  saved the lives and property of the people in the State. The scholarships have been sanctioned for the academic year (2014-15).
Announcing the scholarships, Mr. Rajendra has stressed upon the wards to get modern education and perform excellent in different examinations. He said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police Organization is providing assistance to the wards to boost their morale so that they could continue their studies and excel in future examinations.
Giving details, the DGP said that the beneficiaries include 103 meritorious wards of serving police personnel, who have secured 75 per cent marks or above upto the 12th classes and 25 wards of deceased police personnel.
The DGP said that in the modern age responsibilities of parents have doubled and they have to pay proper attention towards their wards from the very initial stage. He said that the parents have to make their wards able to face the challenges in the modern times and make their future bright. He said that quality education has assumed more importance in the present days and every child has to perform better and shape his future.
Meanwhile, newly  inducted KPS officers called on Director General of Police (DGP) at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today. They   interacted with the Police Chief and expressed their will to serve the nation as a member of Jammu and Kashmir Police Parivar.
During the introductory interaction, Mr. Rajendra congratulated them for their selection in Jammu and Kashmir Police Service and choosing the noble public service as their carrier. He said that the officers would have great experiences in the Police Organization and opportunities to service the people with devotion and commitment and earn a good name for themselves and the police organization at large.
He said that the selected batch of officers with highly educational background have rightly chosen the police service, where they could serve the people of the State in a better way. He said after completion of basic training course from the prestigious police academy, the officers would have to work in the field as representatives of JKP and deliver with the expectations of the people and the organization.
