NEW DELHI : The Opposition Members in the Lok Sabha today boycotted the proceedings amid slogan shouting even as stalemate over various issues prevailed despite debate on adjournment motion over the Lalit Modi’s issue yesterday.
Pandemonium broke in the House at the onset of the sitting with Speaker Sumitra Mahajan rejecting all adjournment motion notices served by the Opposition Congress, Samajwadi Party, RJD Members over various issues.
This triggered sloganeering as the placard waving Members stormed the Well. The Members were raising slogans for calling in Prime Minister in the House for breaking his silence over Vyapam scam and other corruption issues.
The slogan shouting continued for about 25 minutes and in the meantime, Question Hour proceedings also advanced simultaneously amid the din. Then Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav tried to make their points but their mikes were off and even the Speaker did not pay any attention to them.
Annoyed with the “Speaker’s ignorance,” Members from the Opposition benches walked out. (AGENCIES)
