DDC pays surprise visit to various offices, 20 officers found absent

Udhampur, Aug 13: District Development Commissioner, Udhampur,  Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today visited Ramnagar Subdivision and inspected the punctuality and functioning of the various offices apart from reviewing preparedness for Independence Day celebrations.
DDC inspected various offices including BMO office Ramnagar, EO Municipality office, CDPO office, TSWO office, CAPD store, TSO office, SDM office, DFO office, SDAO office, Sub district Hospital, PHE PDD, PWD offices  and CAPD food store. Action has been initiated against 20 officers including a dozen gazetted officers.
During inspection of attendance register of BMO office, it was found that BMO Dr Rajesh Gupta, Dr Deepak Koul Assistant Surgeon, Dr Pooja Bharti Assistant Surgeon, Dr Ishandeep MO, Dr Giru Chand, Dr Neelu MO, Dr Sakshi Gupta, Dr Arun Gupta, Roopali Gupta,FMPHW were absent without leave sanction or permission to leave station. Duty roster and movement register were also not maintained. He also inspected Emergency ward, laboratory section and drug store of SDH and checked the stock register of drug store of SDH.
The DDC  visited   CDPO office, TSWO office ,PHE and PDD office and inspected  and seized the attendance register  of these offices after irregularities noticed. CDPO Ramnagar Prem Prabha was found absent during surprise inspection of her office. He also visited CAPD food store and checked the stock position.
On spot, he directed SHO Ramnagar to take samples of rice from the store and check the quality of the ration. He directed SDM to countercheck the ration which was coming from Udhampur and directed him to be vigilant and check the punctuality of all the offices under his jurisdiction.
XEn PWD was directed for estimation of repairs for offices of SDM and DFO .
Later, DDC convened a meeting with the officers of the Sub Division at Dak Bunglow Ramnagar and directed them to be regular, punctual, maintain all records regarding tours, departure report, movement register etc and redress the grievances of the people of the area on priority. He directed them not to leave the station without permission from the SDM Ramnagar.He asked SDM to identify land bank for various   upcoming new projects in the district and also for transfer to Forest Department for plantation.
On the way, he also checked the overloaded passenger vehicles and directed ARTO Udhampur for action who realized Rs 15,000 fine. DDC directed XEn PWD to give status report of Ritti Tawi bridge initiating construction soon.
DDC was accompanied by PO DRDA Dr J C Mehra, PO ICDS Krishan Lal, DIO Dr A Hansa, DFO Vivek Modi,ARTO Ramesh, XEn PWD Rajesh Gupta, ExEn PMGSY and others.
