Yatra crosses 3.47 lakh Holy mace taken to Hari Parvat temple

JAMMU, Aug 16: In connection with annual Swami Amarnath Ji Yatra-, Chhari-Mubarak led by Mahant Deependra Giri ji was taken to Ancient ‘Sharika-Bhawani’ Temple, Hari Parvat, Srinagar today to pay obeisance to the Goddess on the occasion of ‘Shravan Shukla Paksha Pratipada’, as per the age-old traditions.
Goddess ‘Sharika-Bhawani’ popularly known as ‘Tripursundari’, amongst the mystics, is believed to be ‘Isht Devi’ (Presiding Deity) of the Srinagar city who manifested herself in a figure of ‘Shila’ (Holy Rock) at Hari-Parvat.
Sadhus, who participated in the Pujan, prayed for everlasting peace for State of Jammu & Kashmir.
Mahant Deependera Giri custodian of Chhari Mubarak said traditional ‘Chhari-Pujan’ will be performed on the occasion of ‘Nag-Panchami’ which falls on August 19 at Shri Amareshwar Temple, Akhara Building, Budshah Chowk, Srinagar.
Chhari-Mubarak will leave on August 25 from Dashnami Akhara Srinagar for main course of pilgrimage and reach Holy Shrine of Swami Amarnath Ji situated at an altitude of 13500 feet in South Kashmir on the auspicious day of ‘Shravan-Purnima’ that falls on August 29.
Meanwhile, 1108 pilgrims performed darshan at holy cave during last two days. Out of them 519 performed darshan yesterday while 589 paid obeisance to the Ice Lingam in cave shrine today.
With this the total number of pilgrims paying obeisance in the holy cave since the yatra started from here on July 1 has touched 3,47,336.
